As I help you, I’m learning along the way too!  I am regularly completing training and certifications with trusted travel partners and destinations so I can guide you with knowledge, care, and confidence every step along the way of your journey.

I’m Katherine Gerber, the heart behind Along the Way Travel.  I am a Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother. I am a reading remediation teacher specializing in kindergarten through 2nd grade.  I am blessed to be part of a multicultural family seeing as we adopted children from Ethiopia in 2010.

I love to travel, experiencing everything from tent camping to cruising and all-inclusive resorts. As of December 2025, I have visited 21 different countries, and some of them several times.  I’ve been white river rafting in Montana (US) and hiking in the Alps of Switzerland.  I’ve visited the ruins in Chichen Itza (Mexico) and Pompeii (Italy). I’ve been in art museums and chapels around the world to see places like the Sistine Chapel (Vatican City) and the Louvre (France). I’ve been snorkeling in the Virgin Islands and swimming in cenotes while in Riviera Maya (Mexico).  I’ve encountered wild animals in the mountains of Ethiopia (Africa) and held sloths in Roatan (Honduras). I haven’t been everywhere and seen everything but it’s on my list.

I decided to become a travel advisor because I believe travel is about connection – time together, shared memories, and stepping away from the noise of everyday life.  Some of the most meaningful moments happen when we step away from our busy routines and spend intentional time together.

My faith guides how I serve my clients: with honesty, integrity, and genuine care.

I also believe that the journey matters just as much as the destination.  The conversations, laughter, and spontaneous moments made along the way are often the memories we treasure the most.

Whether it’s a relaxing cruise, a beach escape, a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a long over-due friend visit, I love helping people turn their travel ideas into real experiences.  When you work with me, you’re not just getting someone to book a trip.  You’re getting someone who will take time to understand what you’re looking for and help you plan a vacation that fits your budget and vision.
